First time I've seen this since I saw it almost 34 years ago, when I was five years old. This is THE thing that got me hooked on special effects. Before this, I don't think I got, at a certain level, that people *made* this stuff. That there were models and bluescreen and stop motion animation and stage hands throwing stuff at Mark Hamill.

Honestly like this more every time I see it. It’s such a romantic fairy tale of a movie. Some of it is a glorious mess, to be sure, but emphasis on the glory.
I’ve been holding my breath for most of the last two hours, horrified, my heart about to burst out of my chest. And then… well, damn, that was amazing, but I probably also never want to see it again, as with most Aronofskys.
And after all I’ve just been through, the scribbling over the end credits is truly upsetting.
That sound design, tho. A phenomenal way to really put you in her head.
After newly calibrating my projector, I notice the subtlety of the green cast of the imagery from inside the matrix. It's mostly in the flesh tones, and doesn't usually affect the black leather or dark, rainy streets, which stay pretty neutral, or even lean a tiny bit blue. An impressive and subtle color grade.
