This single location torture thriller is a confusing mess that ends up being pretty decent way to spend 80 minutes of your day. The score does so much work for this film, and really changes how you experience the movie. It’s used so well throughout the runtime, and despite playing for almost the entire movie it never got annoying. This was a nice surprise. I'd never even heard of it and the title didn't grab my interest interest in the slightest. I only clicked play because Christoph Waltz and Sam Neill were in it, and they were of course both great from start to finish, as was the entire cast.
It's a quite fun and original fantasy movie, with a modern story and a pinch of weirdness to separate it from the pack. There are seven books in this series, so hopefully we'll get to see this continue on the big screen.
