    No Country for Old Men


    It's a gritty modern day western of wide vistas. An atmospheric (mainly through silence and a sense of impending doom) chase movie. However when the characters do talk to eachother the interactions are mesmerising and the dialogue galvanising. It is a Coen flick after all.

    Javier Bardem delivers a remarkable performance of a brooding menace. A performance far more harrowing than a Jason Voohrees or similar. Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.

    Drive is, in short, fucking awesome. From the moment it starts, our nameless main character is established in the coolest way possible: a high-speed car chase that showcases his nerves of steel, consummate professionalism, insane driving skills, and silent nature.
