Sergio Leone Movies List- Click HERE
A Fistful of Dollars is a classic and iconic western. I was planning to rewatch The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly this month so I decided to go ahead and watch the whole Dollars trilogy. This was a film I’ve always wanted to watch but never did for some reason. I expected this to be an action packed entertaining western and those expectations were met. The plot is great it’s a classic story and it’s very entertaining. This film is very important because it basically birthed the spaghetti western sub-genre. The acting is good Clint Eastwood gives an utterly iconic performance as The Man with No Name. His character is so mysterious and heroic, making him a character you can root for. Gian Maria Volontè gives a good performance and plays a memorable villain.
The direction is great from Sergio Leone, he is such a groundbreaking and recognizable Director and you can tell he was very passionate about making this film. The script is truly great as well. The cinematography is pretty good and the score is fantastic. Ennio Morricone’s scores durning the Dollars trilogy are some of the greatest scores of all time. The action is great there is a ton of fun shootouts and action sequences, there was a lot more action in this than I expected. The ending shootout is incredibly iconic and memorable. Overall A Fistful of Dollars is the western that started it all and a film everyone should eventually see.
