For my seventh Adapted Screenplay Challenge, I have selected films based upon books nominated for the National Book Award for Fiction. These represent a baker's dozen of award finalists and winners, both hardbound and paperback, published and adapted for film since 1950. The last entry, a wish list item, is VERY long and I may not have time for it.
Again, the rules are the same: I'll first read the source and then watch the film, whereupon I will write a summary of the original material along with a review on how it was adapted, noting any significant changes or embellishments. Timing: Roughly one book/film a month till completed.
