I always forget how fun it is going into a movie blind - I don't think I ever saw a trailer for this, just a vague TV spot or two. I had no idea what to expect and I was pleased to find an intriguing, thoughtful, often quiet family drama with bursts of Amblin-esque sci-fi. Great cast, (Michael Shannon killing it, as always) and a great score. I find it interesting and great that if you strip away the sci-fi elements you have a story that's partially about faith but mostly about what a parent will do for their child. Just a very well done movie.
