After enjoying his 'An Inconvenient Truth', I decided to follow the career of director Davis Guggenheim, and this study of enthusiasts from three generations of the electric guitar proved a wonderful watch. I enjoy many different styles of music, and have over the years been a completist for each of the three radically different players covered: The Edge (his work in U2), Jimmy Page (The Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin) and Jack White (The White Stripes). I liked the down-to-earth, conversational approach the St. Louis-native took, and this is heartily recommended for family viewing of anyone interested in music. It's one of the better documentaries I've seen of this millennium that's NOT made by my personal favourite documentarian, the incomparable Werner Herzog.
