The Gold Rush ★★★★★

I try to truly love Buster Keaton's work as the epitome of great silent comedic cinema, but then I throw on something great by Chaplin and he's simply impossible to deny. Though 'The Circus' will always be my favourite of his works, there are astonishing and hilarious set-pieces, such as when the cabin is almost falling off the cliff, that will forever be etched in my mind. A truly wonderful film that ANY self-respecting cinephile should watch.
