Visually stunning with a great soundtrack, but comprehensive proof that I’m just not a fan of Frank Herbert’s Dune.

If you liked Dieter, the safe cracker, in Army of the Dead (and we all did) and wanted to see more of him in a world before the zombies (which apparently we also did) then this is your film. A fun heist flick with fun nods to Army of the Dead but a much more streamlined story and fun development we didn’t get for a fan-favorite character.

Cinematically it has some issues, but conceptually there are some fun ideas to play with, especially if using it for inspiration for a Kids on Bikes setting.

As much a love letter to fandom as the original movie it covers.
