Zack Snyder's Justice League

Zack Snyder's Justice League ★★★★

a strong counterpoint to the idea that Zack Snyder doesn’t care about people. Sure it’s uneven and not everything works but the hunt for the aesthetic perfection is what has ground other superhero movies into paste (even if I don’t totally hate that paste) and the arrival of something with this much personality in the genre should be celebrated. Yeah, it’s a dipshit opera but it’s compelling, moving and frequently beautiful. I was struck that Snyder is the only filmmaker making comic book movies interested in beautiful images rather than just pleasing ones.

And oh yeah, the action in this is superlative, especially the big battle sequences in the first hour.
