Wow. I am not really a PT Anderson fan, apart from There Will Be Blood, but I was head over heels for this one, one of 2017's most sumptuous, controlled, aware-of-what-it's-doing, idiosyncratic movies. This was the kind of film where the moment the opening credits, started, I was checking in with friends to see whether they'd seen it yet, because I had to talk about it right away. Maybe the year's most unexpected and rewarding pleasure for me.
