once upon a time in hollywood starts off as a beautiful look behind the silver screen. it showcases tarantino’s direction and the editing keeps a slower story entertaining. there’s lots to be said for tarantino as person, but there’s no question that he knows his way around directing a movie. the color scheme, costumes, makeup, and casting were done so well. as the movie progresses it becomes more comedic and dramatic which was entertaining and much needed as it was such a long film. as a whole, i really enjoyed it and i think it was absolutely one of his best.
