Upstream Color is, as expected, a puzzling work of art that can only fully enthrall on rewatch. Unlike the director's previous film (Primer), Upstream Color harnesses it's bizarre concept/scenarios to emanate beautiful emotions. Admittedly, it's strange nature can get laughably ridiculous and there is only so much I got out of the intense metaphysical. Still, talent is displayed here effortlessly - some of the editing is too brilliant for its own good - and I am willing to bet that it will only get better as time progresses.
A one of a kind masterpiece that is definitely one of the best films from the 2010’s. Medieval times has and will never been presented this perfectly. Whilst it is a very uncomfortable/disgusting film, so was the time period, and it accomplishes insight that only cinema can accomplish.
