Happy Together

Happy Together ★★★★

Thanks for the recommendation, Matilda (letterboxd won’t let me reply to comments anymore for some reason).

This is the third WKW film I’ve seen, and even though the setting adds a lot of variety from his other films, it’s still pretty clear that he’s doing the same process he (to my knowledge) always does, leaving me unable to apply my usual narrative standards. That said, I can’t really complain because it always ends up being pretty raw emotionally and photographically and never really leaves me wanting more narrative focus because that’s not the intention.
