I… could not believe the same guy that wrote Basic Instinct wrote this.

It WANTS to say something about voyeurism but like… that aspect could be entirely removed from the narrative and it would still work. Like our killer reveal has nothing to do with that element and it doesn’t REALLY matter in the overall plot. So you finish the movie and are just left feeling: why were we doing all of this thinking about voyeurism for it to literally…

Very Giallo-light but still engaging enough to keep me invested.

I mean cast alone had this going to work in my favor. I mean Dagmar Lassander AND Nieves Navarro in the same movie??? Sign me up!!! Love their little friendship!

Think of this more as a erotic thriller that is lighter on the thrills. Def more reminiscent of 60s Giallo where they’re all about gaslighting and doubting everything rather than violence.

Also maybe I’m just a broke bitch but do rich people really have random pet turtles walking around their home????

(And both look great!)

My biggest complaints are we needed like ONE more song…

God I am just so happy to finally watch a horror movie that feels like the writer had a brain. A main character I felt connected to immediately, a plot that makes sense, a resolution to the problem that makes sense why no one else could beat the curse, and a final twist that also works.

Is it the scariest thing ever? No! The scares are mostly just “ghosts” (aka people covered in white powder) that act spooky occasionally. But…
