I don't like (and that's a modest way to say it) most Dutch films made for a bigger audience; most of these titles [nowadays] are so-called romcoms (romantic comedies) that miss the necessary originality/dramatic credibility [and one can go on].

But then there are some films that do surprise me; minimalistic arthouse dramas or daring coming of age-titles, to give some examples.

The finest of dutch cinema (in my modest opinion) is listed below - obviously, I haven't seen everything (yet).
