teamgal’s review published on Letterboxd:
An impressively scaled production exquisitely rendered but, ultimately, completely pointless. A war film always insists on its own importance but this one adds nothing to the greater cultural library. It doesn't advance the craft of the cinema, nor does it enlarge the discourse about war. And in that failure, like a puff of smoke, this entire monumental project turns into little more than an expensive prestige-grab, forgotten by next awards season.
