Impossible to estimate just how much of an influence this half-hour art film has had on the creation of an iconography of resistance. Anger incorporates found footage, some of it quite memorable (Brando, Hitler, Jesus), with his own recordings of a gang of bikers — preparing, reveling, desecrating — and, in so doing, renders a number of powerful, dark, subversive images that are as potent today as the day they were shot. The work of a true iconoclast.
