The nostalgia factor is high on this one. I went to see this in the theatre when I was ten years old, along with my dad, my uncle, and my cousin. My cousin and I laughed hysterically as Kevin tortured Harry and Marv. Having grown up on Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, and The Three Stooges, I've always been a sucker for some slapstick humour. In fact, Harry and Marv remind me a lot of Laurel and Hardy during the second half of this.
Watching this has been a Christmas tradition for me ever since that first viewing. And, while I skipped watching anything Christmas related for the last four Christmases prior to this one, it was nice coming back to this. It helped cheer me up a little. I get really depressed around this time of year since my wife passed away. Christmas was our thing and we always went all out. This is my first time watching this without her since our first Christmas together in '98. Anyway, I'm oversharing.
I'll never get sick of watching Joe Pesci get set on fire.
