Ted Mills’s review published on Letterboxd:
Sleeping Dogs - Roger Donaldson’s 1977 debut film, one of Sam Neill’s first roles too, it’s a NZ thriller set in a fascist future, where Neill absolutely positively does not want to take sides. Welp, that doesn’t work out well. Shot in that choppy, elliptical way on many a low budg 70’s film where yr sure a couple of helpful scenes just didn't get shot in time. Also Warren Oates turns up! And a cute dog gets left on an island and i hope he did okay. Maybe he’s now the ruler of the island!
