very sweet at it’s core and has some funny moments. i can see why disney dumped this on Disney+ since it probably wouldn’t have made a ton of money. it feels like Disney’s safe version of Elf. Kendrick carries the film here. i’d say this is a movie worth checking out this holiday season with the fam.
this was just fucking amazing. i loved everything about it. the message the film told was so god damn important and was told so masterfully. It was beautifully directed, had a great score, and the film was brought together with some of the best performances i’ve seen in a film in 2017. Sam Rockwell is always good and i especially loved him and his character in this. The fact that this was just as laugh out loud funny as it was dark and depressing, and i just love how it was balanced. Oh i’m forgetting Frances is the fucking shit and deserves 20 oscars.
truly creative and full of heart. it’s made with care and purely good intentions. the performances here across the board were fantastic. it handles the sad topic at it’s core but truly channels what it would like to be a kid in that experience, no matter what side you’re on. it truly wears its heart on its sleeve and that may be the best thing about it. truly a joy of a film.
