what truly tipped me off that something deeply sad and heartbreaking was happening right in front of my eyes was the continuing change of the girlfriend's name and the story of how they met and her job.
But to really be sure I had to rewind and focus what has been unfolding during their visit with the parents, how time keeps going back and forth to figure out how deep and incrdibly sad the life experiences of Jake were.
I haven't read the book, you see, so I had to rewind and refocus on what Charlie Kaufman has been putting these small crumbs of revelations throughout the movie to reach to that incredible and shocking ending which has almost moved me to tears.
This is definitely one of the best written and produced film of the year with fantastic cast which gave us excellent performances and a story which is deeply moving.
