A movie that's probably too in love with action absurdity of the 80's and 90's. But when it's on, it's enjoyable as hell.

It's been a long, long time since I saw a horror film that made me cringe like this. At times, it even prompted my old childhood instinct of covering my eyes a few times. The VVitch is a hell of an accomplishment from first-time director Robert Eggers. It's visually stunning, tremendously acted and methodically executed. This film should play as a master class in executing and maintaining dread in the highest caliber.
