Kieran Smith’s review published on Letterboxd:
Gorgeously animated with performances that tote a lot of heart. I’d be lying if I said that Raya and the Last Dragon didn’t pull on my heart strings and provide a really fun time. Unfortunately, all of that is somewhat undercut by the opposition between its central theme and the ironic reality of the film’s place in cinema. Here is a film which, very effectively and in earnest, discusses the great things humanity can achieve when they trust one another and collaborate. A great message, especially for the film’s target audience, but one which is distributed by Disney, a corporation currently expanding their monopoly over film production.
Also, the sexual chemistry between Raya and Namaari is undeniable.
