Just a guy that loves everything about the movies.
My favorite film list is constantly changing.
I still cannot get over the fact that the dude who wrote and directed this complete and utter dumpster fire also wrote Skyfall, Gladiator, and Aviator just to name a few. I wonder who thought this pitch was a good idea. This script and it's characters are so paper thin. The fact that even Kevin Bacon is boxed in that it is almost impossible for him to help lead this film. The first ten minutes seemed interesting and then it…
A bands love letter to horror films. Since the leads and most of the supporting cast we are with most of the film is the band Foo Fighters. Who probably don't have that much acting experience I can give that a pass. But Dave Grohl is really carrying this film and hamming it up and being the most inspired and impassioned of the cast. Kinda like that one kid who drags his friends to make a home movie and is…
The star studded cast makes this movie 3x better than it should be. Gone in 60 Seconds is a fun popcorn movie that helped me pass some time the other night.
Think this could’ve helped if it had another draft or two written for the script to give the characters more stakes and be more fleshed out.
Definitely loved the scenes between Cage and Lindo.
It’s very refreshing to see Duvall in a role that is just there for fun.
That last 15 minute action set piece was bonkers I loved it.
More thoughts to come.
Not going to lie I didn't hate what Travolta was doing in this film. Travolta was the only thing that was keeping me interested in the film. I didn't care for the direction. Oh, and the script. That script just goes through the motions sadly hitting all the jukebox hits like a local cover band singing out of key. I'd be interested also to hear the pitch to get Pitbull to help do the music for this film. Unfortunately Kevin Connolly stated in numerous interviews that they only 20 days for principle photography and it shows.
