    Police Story 4: First Strike

First Strike is a decent enough action film with great stuntwork and some creative action scenes, but the humor and plot seem to be directly lifted from a Roger Moore Bond movie, and it just wasn't all that engaging. I have heard that the original cut is quite a bit longer, so maybe it has a more fleshed out plot and better written characters. Of course the bad English dubbing in the American version that I watched doesn't help. I…

  • Batman: Under the Red Hood

    Batman: Under the Red Hood

Batman: Under the Red Hood is a really great DC animated outing with personal, engaging drama, and tons of fantastic action set pieces. I just wish they had just a bit more time to really flesh out the characters, 75 minutes isn't enough. 8/10

That was moon ice you nasty b***h!

Ruth Mitchell- A Bad Moms Christmas 2017

A Bad Moms Christmas is an improvement on its predecessor with the new cast members breathing a lot of life into a decently funny script. 6.5/10

  • Hillbilly Elegy

    Hillbilly Elegy

I'm really surprised by the amount of hate this got. It seems like any time Netflix picks up a dark drama based on a novel, people automatically hate it, i.e. The Devil All the Time. To be honest I don't really get the hate. The acting is fantastic, the story is engaging, and there are some heartbreaking scenes. Hillbilly Elegy is a really solid and engaging drama from Ron Howard. 8/10

    Happy Thanksgiving guys!

That condominium joke at the end still makes me laugh uncontrollably for a few hours.

    Clifford the Big Red Dog

My old joke review of this film is pointless because now it's a cute puppy instead of nightmare fuel. R.I.P old Clifford picture, you will be missed.

  • Happiest Season

    Happiest Season

Happiest Season has plenty of charm for the Christmas season with likeable performances, a few good laughs, and a sweet ending. 7.5/10

  • Run

Run is a taut and exciting thriller with excellent performances, and tons of intense moments throughout.

  • Bad Moms

    Bad Moms

It's not as cringey or terrible as I thought it would be, but Bad Moms is still a pretty weak comedy that just feels run-of-the-mill, despite a decent cast (especially the hilarious Kathryn Hahn) and a few funny lines. 5/10

  • Blockers

Blockers is genuinely hilarious, with a great heart and a great cast, making it a blast to watch from start to finish. 2018 really was a great year for R rated comedies. 8/10

  • Places in the Heart

    Places in the Heart

Places in the Heart is a well acted period drama with some great moments, even though there's a boring subplot that lasts way too long. 7.5/10

  • The Ref

    The Ref

The Ref has a really funny script and great performances, but it seems to end before it begins, and a lot of loose ends are kind of dropped without much closure. 7/10
