God, I love Yorgos. I can see how he’s a challenging filmmaker but I am up for the challenge (Dogtooth, notwithstanding). And he sure knows how to cast! This is a fantastic rewatch, with all sorts of discoveries looming in the background and subtext.
His films are always fantasy/supernatural. Fairytales, really, because there’s always an element of morality to them. But I think when he sets them in a very real-seeming world, it upsets people. Poor Things was more accessible…
