Brad Henderson’s review published on Letterboxd:
Don Siegel & Clint Eastwood one of the most celebrated collaborations in film history.
The Beguiled is a somewhat disturbing film with dark bitter tones. A film that critics say was influential on Eastwoods own films he Directed in the future.
A Civil war soldier wounded in the forest is found & nursed back to health by a a group of young school girls and tough women in a boarding school in the American South.
Each women/girl forms a relationship with the handsome Eastwood with Sexual fantasies, even for the young girls which is confronting.
A film that will be viewed again thanks to Sofia Coppola bringing a new version to the screen.
Geraldine Page is one of the great actresses excellent in this, wish she had appeared in more films.
