If you had told me this movie was a real documentary before watching it, I would have 100% believed you. And that is how the film accomplishes its most frightening elements - realism.
To be honest, this film is... not at all what I expected. I was anticipating more of a found footage type film rather than its documentary style - however, this film genuinely unsettled me nevertheless. And I can't put my finger quite on why. Yes, it felt incredibly real, but it's also very simple at times and patient. However, as I sat there, watching the credits, and letting the experience wash over me, I was overwhelmed. This really did a number on me by the end, even though I was admittedly a little unsure of what to think for the first half of it.
If you're looking for a little different type of horror film, it's for sure worth checking out. Just don't look too closely, you might not like what you see.
