    James Caan's Pinky Ring

★★★★ Watched by James Caan's Pinky Ring 07 Jan 2022

    "Are you fucking with me?"

Best Bradley Cooper part of all time. Every word that comes out of his mouth is hilarious. He could've left after his first scene in the driveway and it would've been the greatest performance of his career. He might be responsible for the funniest PTA scene of all time. Leo DiCaprio's dad stole my heart. I wish he could've been in Inherent Vice. His sequence is genuinely hypnotic. Although exquisite cinematography and wonderful score cue…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

    Spoiler Alert:

This was maybe the greatest cinematic experience I have ever had. Not only were the shots surprisingly good for a marvel movie, but every line of comedy hit and the action was dope. When Tobey and Andrew showed up the whole theatre went absolutely insane.

This was an Endgame level movie.

  • The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf 2021

    Harry Du Bois

★★★ Watched by Harry Du Bois 24 Aug 2021 2

Don’t expect anything utterly standout (actually, if you’re purely looking for a riveting story that veers on torture porn, this may satiate your needs), but Nightmare of the Wolf is a competently-made thrill ride in the Witcher world. As far as I know, you don’t need to have a lot of foreknowledge to enjoy the film — the concepts more or less explain themselves and the story’s self-contained. Just be mindful that this goes all in on gore, and you’ll…

    Malignant 2021

    Harry Du Bois

★★★★½ Watched by Harry Du Bois 11 Sep 2021 23

Watching Malignant goes something like this: solid first hour that builds mystery and offers pretty good scares, gorgeous colors and visual moments (James Wan's dynamic style of shooting, as if he wants the audience to appreciate the grand sets, is much enjoyable to watch), a middle portion that stacks revelations on top of revelations, the big twist that turns sh*t up to 11, then a final twenty minutes that's basically (as far as I can tell) a greatest-hits montage of…

There’s a glimmering shard of hope inside all of us, in every being. It’s never clear what might become of it, whether it’ll grow to become a large tree or a withered sapling robbed of its glory. The world is, unfortunately, a place not known to accommodate something as naïve as hope. People die, money dictates life or death for many, pen-pushers idle over serious matters as if they were boring playthings. The old guard has failed us, time and…

Odd, isn't it, that your denial of the existence of ghosts is the very reason they exist? That the fear of admitting life after death exists is intrinsically linked with the loneliness and isolation of the departed? That the lack of contact in the real world and in cyberspace, both worlds perceived as havens of interaction and communication, may not end in death? Maybe ghosts are real, maybe they're just as lonely as they were alive — whisper for help,…

  • Mr. Bean's Holiday

    Mr. Bean's Holiday 2007

    Siegel™

    ★★ Watched by Siegel™ 25 Feb 2021 16

I actually find Johnny English to be somewhat funny, as the character displays an exorbitant amount of confidence that he keeps hilariously proving is wildly unearned, but my first foray into Atkinson's more famed character Mr. Bean turned out to be disappointingly unfunny, as I could find no discernable reason to care about this sweaty, leering, borderline creepy dumbass. There is simply nothing about Mr Bean that is endearing, sympathetic, or even likeable, and so while I occasionally chuckled, I was entirely uninvested throughout.
