ATL Inspiration Marathon - Part 36
I dunno why this one got such awful reviews at the time, but this is another Brian De Palma smash. It's over-the-top with absolutely obnoxious, annoying characters being horrible to each other and a massive political movement started out of media manipulation and self-serving jerkwads. Maybe this sort of black comedy nonsense is a little too much for some people, but for me it was just the right dose of cynicism I needed in these trying times.
Granted, I haven't read the book or anything, and apparently this is a compromised adaptation of it, but I certainly don't mind the crazy stage play-like staging and hammy acting in this movie here.
