Sean Gilman’s review published on Letterboxd :
Highlighting the non-martial arts titles in the Celestial Pictures restorations, focusing on the huangmei musicals and women's melodramas Shaws produced in the late 50s and 60s, or rather, focusing on their stars: Li Li-hua, Lin Dai, Ivy Ling-po, Lily Ho, etc. The limited focus noticeably leaves out anything post Lily Ho (like Kara Hui, who was a talking head in the other two episodes, let alone someone like Brigitte Lin), but the failure to even mention Grace Chang is kind of unforgivable. Still, nice to see something on this undercovered (at least here in the west) chapter of Hong Kong film industry. Also Cheng Pei-pei might be the most beautiful person ever.
