Collin Taylor’s review published on Letterboxd:
Sidney Lumet is honestly a genius. He makes this intense bank thriller while also making a film about societal issues that are still relevant to this day such as gay marriage, homosexuality, sex change, and police brutality. That blows my mind. Dog Day Afternoon is so much more than a bank robbery film, it's a film about psychological boundaries, friends, family, and choices. This movie is shockingly great. I have some flaws with the character of "Sal" who I don't think got enough run-time but that is really it. This is a great film.
