WINTER "HIGH ART" MARATHON #84
An absolutely devastating portrait of love between spouses and how far it goes in even the most grim circumstances.
As a person who grew up around a handful of stroke victims, this film is not only heartbreaking, but 100% accurate with how it portrays home care in someone's final days.
There were so many scenes that emotionally crippled me in this film. The fact that Jennifer Lawrence took home the Oscar for Best Actress instead of Riva is nothing short of insulting, she was magnificent in this film.
This is one of Haneke's best. And I don't say that lightly.
