  Matt Reeves's The Batman brings its comic book lore to life with the perfect combination of gothic atmosphere in a world of neo noir hardboiled crime fighting. I love how it approaches the superhero narrative with the genre of a moody investigative thriller. Also, romance too? Idk man but something about two people dressing up in black leather with daddy issues trying to solve sadistic sex traps made by another masked man obsessed with bondage seems kinda kinky to me...…

  Decent film, I loved the horror elements the most and I think Raimi's distinct directorial style strongly helps the film through its formulaic narrative. There was a lot of thrilling flavor to the film and I genuinely loved its darker moments. I think this is definitely one of the MCU movies I can see myself rewatching, but I also said that about No Way Home... I'm not sure if I like that movie anymore.
