Thirteenth film at Venice Film Festival. Has the pleasure of watching this film after the ceremony to present Andrews with a Life Time Achievement Golden Lion. Relatively small theatre for what felt like such a big occasion so I felt lucky to be in there. The roof came off the place for several minutes when she arrived and there was a gorgeous montage of her work before hand.
The ceremony not withstanding. I enjoyed the film a fair bit and was surprised by how funny it was a places, though that may be partly because the audience was in a good mood after seeing Andrews. I felt it was a touch too long and a few bits could have been nipped and tucked in places. Generally speaking a good film on a very special occasion.
