+ Cinematography and overall visuals
+ Michael Pitt's performance
- Third Act
- Underwhelming villain
A truly faithful adaption of an iconic anime and I gotta say I fucking enjoyed every minute of it and I question the negative reviews coming out. It had good pacing, good acting, great visuals, great score, faithfully adapting iconic scenes from the anime and generally a good script until it deviated from the original anime ending to the more Hollywood franchising ending.
I had low hopes coming into this but in the end, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this way more than the original anime. Which unfortunately I thought was slow (pls no hate). Ghost in the Shell has broken the stigma of live adaption of anime and is to me the best live action there is now (sorry Japanese Death Note).
