Jack Aling’s review published on Letterboxd:
Beautiful in its Simplicity.
Carol is a unique period piece and character study. It's touching, emotional and heartbreaking. I didn't really connect in the way I wanted to but every shot looks beautiful and the last 20 minutes are close to expert filmmaking, in terms of style, performances and direction.
I wouldn't say its the 5-star masterpiece that Letterboxd has it out to be but Yeah, well, that's just, like, my opinion, man.
