Jack Aling’s review published on Letterboxd:
Some People Have Real Problems.
Your wedding day is supposedly the happiest day of your life, but as Honeymood shows the evening can be wildly unpredictable.
Ran Danker and Avigail Harari star as the newly wedded couple and we follow them as their supposed celebration of love unravels as Harari discovers a wedding present from her new husband's ex-girlfriend.
The happiness is short-lived as the evening quickly escalates into arguments on the streets of Jerusalem with snappy back and forth dialogue. Harari and Danker have fantastic chemistry, constantly challenging each other and grasping for control. As the night continues, the film takes more of an unexpectedly whimsical route which took me by surprise but curiously matches the offbeat crescendo.
Talya Lavie directs this hilarious and well-shot piece that was such a warming start to this year's London Film Festival.
