Jack Aling’s review published on Letterboxd:
If You Leave Me, I'll Have to Kill You.
Undine is a mysterious and romantic love story that despite it's best efforts I found frustratingly dull.
I wanted to love this film, there's enough intrigue to pull you in and keep you engaged as you learn more about Undine but the crawling pace really dampened the whole experience.
There are moments of real beauty between the extensive scenes about city planning - the underwater scenes are shot beautifully and both Paula Beer and Franz Rogowski give haunting performances.
An alluring but flawed modern take on a classic myth, Undine ultimately suffers from style over substance.
