My traditional “Night before filming” screening always helps inspire. How these two knucklehead film dorks had (or what appears to be) complete control over their dark, twisty, “off-beat” storytelling that seems to have evolved mostly in resources over the years is both intimidating and yet completely comforting.
Always gets me hyped to shoot again.

Is it The Coen Bros’ masterpiece?
Many say yes but considering everything that’s come before and after, tough call for me.
Complex, dark, TENSE as all get out and funny in the most unexpected of ways, this is likely the closest we’ve gotten to their horror film.
Anton Chigur is The Existential Terminator.
Also, they sure do love opening a film with a series of landscape shots and voice overs, don’t they?
…Ok maybe it is their masterpiece.
