what the fuck this movie is great. i literally didn’t know it existed until i read the disaster artist and learned about greg sestero taking tommy to see this.

my main criticism is that there are some stylistic elements like the opening credits and a few cuts near the beginning that date this in a bad way but for some reason those quirks are completely forgotten after the first 30 mins or so. i’m not complaining but it was definitely weird and i did notice it. otherwise a very good film with so many twists and turns and amazing music.

this movie is ridiculous and structurally quite shitty but ramis’ performance is so fucking funny like every time he’s on screen making faces and shit i was crying. good score too

this is one of the most beautiful films i've ever seen. the colors, the shot composition, and the acting, my god what an incredible movie. sam shepard is my favorite playwright and he will be sorely missed.

(also i grew up in the mojave desert and when they're driving back from texas they're actually driving up the 395 past kramer junction. you can even see the old astro burger drive in on the left and it looks exactly the same as it did 33 years ago lol)

    rip harry and sam <3

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

an interesting premise with THE WORST writing, a lame love story and irl clipping through the map

ties into the first cloverfield but not in a cool way. also does this mean these are trying to be an actual series with 10 cloverfield lane set in the same universe? or did they just take a lame noname scifi movie and turn it into a poorly executed tie in to the first movie to punch it up? probably the latter.
