DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story

DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story ★★★

you might think that after the 100th time someone gets hit in the face with a big rubber ball it stops being funny but it doesn't. has quite a few of the irritating studio comedy-isms of the era (like the nonstop pointless cameo humor) but it's a solid enough childish, physical gag parody of sports dramas that is elevated a lot for me by stiller who was truly in the animated comic zone around this time and rip torn whose drunken top gun instructor schtick is so memorable i always forget he's not even in like half the movie. this was a baby josh quotable classic up there with napoleon dynamite and dude, where's my car?
