josh lewis’s review published on Letterboxd:
monumentally dumb and filled with as much artless cg goop as any of these is but also, somehow, despite all odds... a genuinely funny and cute male roommate romcom? getting the origin stuff out of the way and stripping away any boring, expository tech villains means this can basically just be the slapstick sci-fi domestic dispute shit (the only thing remotely fun about the first one!) for almost the entire runtime. literally has the 2nd act break-up involving venom going out and exploring his queerness at the club. i think people claimed it prematurely about the first one (due to how committed of a performance he was giving inside the typical franchise machine schlock) but this is legit tom hardy auteurism. jaw dropped when i saw they even gave him a writing credit.
