I would love to see The Evil Dead series turn into the Mission Impossible of horror. Each film, get a new director and creative team, no house style, keep the core element of the Evil Dead and experiment.
What a useless film!
This might be Fincher’s first real dud. Everything is so much lesser in quality than his previous work. The cinematography (which is something he is usually great at) is completely average and lacks contrast. I give a little slack to the script because after working with Aaron Sorkin, everything is going to seem lackluster. But it was so self indulgent, (which would be fine if I deserved any of the respect it desires.) It’s completely average, made worse…
