I don't really have much to say, other than that was absolutely awesome. The energy and vibe of the whole movie is awesome - the way the brilliant score, fantastic editing, and stylistic lighting and cinematography come together to form a strange feeling creates a constant build in the tension is seriously impressive. The narrative momentum flows so smoothly and, like I said, allows the tension to constantly increase throughout the film's runtime. And Robert Pattinson's performance here is seriously fantastic. The last act is what really hit me, and that final scene is perfection, as the tension-filled crime thriller makes way for a meditation on love, friendship, loneliness, and the individuality of the human experience. There's some powerful stuff here for sure, but it's also goddamn entertaining. I'll definitely be checking out what the Safdie brothers have in store for us in the future.
