My second watch.
Powerful stuff. A movie made up entirely of quiet moments. The entire premise, after all, is based around events that have already occurred before the events of the film itself. Yet there's something profoundly moving about each quiet moment. Stanton and Kinski's performances hold so much emotion and Müller's cinematography is hauntingly beautiful. The climax is staggeringly good and the film as a whole feels essential and timeless.
