Andrei Tarkovsky’s final film is something to behold. Every aspect is done to perfection. The cinematography in particular was some of the best I’ve ever seen. The dialogue was very introspective and melancholy which added to the dark tone Tarkovsky was trying to get across. The score, while it was itinerary moderation, was very impactful. This film is just beautiful and a true cinematic gem and I’ll definitely be watching it in the future. 10/10

A really well shot character drama with some surprising great child acting. The cinematography was incredible and every shot was perfectly framed. The three (main) characters had a very interesting dynamic between them which created some great tension between them. My main problems were just how bland the music was and the fact the the whole movie could’ve easily been shorter as it did get pretty repetitive. Still though, as a directorial debut, it’s very impressive and I can’t wait to check out more of Andrey Zvyagintsev’s filmography. 7/10

A pretty messy movie with some great performances and use of color. There’s nothing that’s inherently bad about this movie technically speaking. Some editing and music choices were off putting which did take me out of the movie. However, the character writing was amazing and the dynamics between them added a lot to the overall emotional value. My main problem was just in how the movie didn’t know what it wanted to be; there wasn’t a clear vision, and that…

A really beautiful romance with some great locations and one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard. Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet are both great and they had really good chemistry with each other. The cinematography was exceptional and the locations, colors, and music really backed it up. This is just a very well made movie and I can’t wait to see Scarface (2021) when it comes out. 8/10
