I've always said Hugo Boss makes the best movie costumes. Colour me entertained, I could have lived without the German versions of Beatles & Bowie but this wasn't the ADL funded, anal political correctness-fest I'd feared from the trailer & synopsis. The young actors playing Jojo and his chubby mate Yorki totally nailed it, I could have watched those two for another hour easily. So did Sam Rockwell hamming it up as the Col Klink (Hogans Heroes) like captain. Sadly Taika Waititi's…
Tarantino turns an American nightmare into a Hollywood dream. Messy plot, weaving elements of the Manson family murders with fictitious has-been actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his gofer/stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) free-falling careers. Far from Tarantino at his best, 'Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood' is still highly entertaining if a little head scratching at times (I was puzzled at QT's #metoo moment with Brad asking the hitchhiker for age ID). This is probably more personal than…
Big city radio host Grant Mazzy is just finding his feet in his new position at Pontypool's humble radio station. During one of his nightly broadcasts, a strange hive mind inducing viral outbreak slowly takes a grip on the small towns population.
Amazingly sharp, psychological take on the tired zombie genre. Premise starts out a little like "The Fog"'s rural radio broadcaster, but the story takes its own unique path. It begins with a light slightly humorous tone, but slowly…
"Listen little Stevie King" - Wade (Rainn Wilson)
Essentially South Parks - Pink Eye episode without the Hitler & Wookie costumes and Trey & Matts inventive situational wit. Don't get me wrong Rainn Wilson beating & torching the undead shit out of the kids was fucking hilarious, trouble was the remaining several characters were like his straight man. It didn't spread the funny. Shame because it had Breaking Bads Badger and Losts Hurley who are genuinely funny guys wasted in uneventful support roles.
