"You have no desire to carry on" - The Narrator (Ludmila Mikael)

Theres no dressing in mothers clothing or mohawked-up pimp killing to be had here. Because Bernard Queysannes bleak as they come 'Un Homme Qui Dort'/'The Man Who Sleeps' is as painfully honest a portrayal of loneliness thats ever been committed to celluloid.

It follows a 25 year old Parisian loners mundane daily existence while his inner (oddly female) voice creates the philosophical narrative. Its pretty experimental and extremely moody. And likely a film you'll endure and appreciate, more than one you'll enjoy and love. You can't deny its extremely well made and totally nails its intention. The 77 minutes flew past in no time. It eerily reminded me of my favorite 'Twilight Zone' episode 'Time Enough At Last' maybe by way of Franz Kafka. Glad I finally caught up with it.
